Professor Agasa and Ai Haibara hitch a ride with two strangers after their car breaks down. Haibara detects bullet holes and blood in the vehicle, suspecting danger. They overhear the pair discussing killing and realize the threat level. Agasa pretends to sleep to listen further, but the woman notices him awake. The group arrives in Tokyo and stops at a diner. Haibara excuses herself to the restroom to call Conan. Conan rushes to the location on his skateboard. He instructs Agasa and Haibara to hide in the men's bathroom. The man knocks on stalls, demanding conversation. Conan devises a plan for Haibara to shout like an adult to confuse them. He then suggests escaping through the window, but the woman guards the exit. The man enters, and Conan tells them to surrender.
