Kansuke Yamato and Yui Uehara escort Kogoro, Ran, and Conan to a mansion once owned by a wealthy man who housed five talented people until they achieved their dreams. Uehara explains that six residents, Shusaku Akashi, Aoi Kobashi, Naoki Midorikawa, Shoji Yamabuki, Takuto Momose, and Shiro Naoki, were known by color names: Aka, Ao, Midori, Yamabuki, Momoiro, and Shiro. Yamato notes the doors swing outward and that Akashi was trapped using boxes of books. The group finds a room with a red wall and a white and black chair nailed back-to-back to the floor. Taka'aki Morofushi arrives, revealing he found Aoi’s body in the storage room after she died of a heart attack. Conan deduces the killer knew the door mechanics and box locations, identifying the culprit as one of the three former residents.
