Ep. 562: Kogoro investigates counterfeiters after Nijimura president is kidnapped and ransom demands are made via waterproof bag
Kogoro Mori is hired by the Nijimura company to investigate a rival firm copying their handbag designs. He, Ran, and Conan witness the company president being abducted by an unknown individual. The kidnapper sends a ransom note to the president's wife, Saki Nijimura, instructing her to place the money in a waterproof Nijimura handbag and meet on a train at a specific time. While being monitored by police, Saki enters a crowd and receives further instructions to throw the bag into the river below the train. She complies, and the current carries the bag away. The following day, authorities find the empty purse downstream along with the president's body in the woods. Conan observes an anomaly with the recovered handbag and deduces it originates from the counterfeit company.
