Ep. 582: The Night the Zombie Died
Kogoro, Ran, and Conan attend comedian Asako Fujimori's birthday party after Kogoro failed to find her stalker. They find Fujimori has stabbed a man in a zombie mask, initially presumed to be the stalker but revealed to be her partner, Jiro Imaoka. Kogoro suspects Imaoka faked the attack to worsen Fujimori's heart condition and force her retirement, concluding it was self-defense. Conan deduces Fujimori fabricated the stalker to murder Imaoka. Evidence of cockleburs shows they met at a park. Fujimori faked losing her key and having a heart attack, luring Imaoka through the balcony for her medication. She entered first and killed him. Fujimori confesses, claiming she acted after hearing Imaoka plan to end their career. A package from Imaoka later reveals he intended to retire to get married.
