On a public holiday at exactly 2 p.m., Agasa and the Detective Boys witness a man shove another off a building roof. The bus departs before they can intervene. Upon returning at 2:20, they find an ambulance at the scene, called by a pedestrian at approximately 2:10. The victim is identified as loan shark Masaaki Ogata. Conan notes the discrepancy in fall time, as Tokyo ambulances typically take 5-6 minutes. Investigation of Ogata’s office reveals signs of a struggle and drag marks from the balcony. Evidence includes a driver’s license for Ryouhei Honda and his glasses outside the railing. Detective Chiba locates Honda, who takes him hostage while claiming to have lost his memory.
