While playing football in Beika, Conan, Haibara, and the Detective Boys follow a stray cat that wanders the area. Their pursuit results in them being trapped inside a moving delivery truck. Inside the vehicle, they discover a dead body. The delivery drivers discuss the incident, claiming the death was accidental and explaining their strategy of circling the area to create an alibi by drawing public attention. Realizing they cannot directly seek help, the children face a dangerous situation. Conan devises a plan to address the crisis and ensure their safety while dealing with the criminals who have locked them in the truck with the victim.
