Upon hearing Camel's account, Conan understands that Vermouth had disguised herself as Jodie to speak with him. He feels frustrated because his actions aligned perfectly with the plans of Bourbon and Vermouth. Meanwhile, Amuro meets with Vermouth, who remains disguised as Jodie. She tells him she learned from Camel that Kusuda committed suicide. Amuro counters that another burned man was shot in the head when Kusuda vanished, noting that Kusuda was thinking of FBI agent Akai Shuichi at the time. Based on this, Amuro deduces that Akai is still alive, though the outcome remains uncertain.
