The Detective Boys help Tamaki Yujiro transport purchased books to his shop, where he offers them complimentary reading material. Tamaki Ichiro arrives and confronts his father regarding the failing business, eventually knocking over an old bookshelf in frustration. The group later discovers the unconscious owner beneath the debris. Yujiro recovers at the hospital and announces his decision to close the establishment. Conan deduces that Ichiro caused the accident to prevent his father from continuing work, prompting Ichiro to surrender to authorities. By the conclusion, Yujiro, Ichiro, and Ichiro's girlfriend transform the former bookstore into a new book café.
