Akai and Amuro reminisce about their past while Vermouth observes Amuro staring at Subaru. Ran reflects on Azusa calling her Angel, recalling a woman who used that name when saving Haibara. Amuro and Subaru demonstrate a trick to Inspector Megure and Takagi, explaining that the victim committed suicide and Enjo Kanae staged the scene to look like murder. The episode reveals that Akai tried to stop Scotch from taking his own life. However, Scotch chose to kill himself upon hearing approaching footsteps, which Zero misinterpreted when he arrived on the scene.
