Wakasa Rumi is introduced as the new assistant homeroom teacher for Conan’s class, a late addition that Conan finds unusual. Described as clumsy and timid, she joins Conan and the detective boys at an old storage facility to retrieve lime. Inside the basement, they uncover the skeleton of a 10 year old. The remains are clutching a strange string inscribed with Chinese characters. During the investigation, Wakasa Sensei seemingly drops a schedule by accident, providing Conan with a crucial hint to help solve the mystery surrounding the discovery.
