Conan suspects Wakasa after finding a receipt she bought that morning. Although he knows Banno Teigo is the culprit, he struggles to understand how the suspect wrote words on his face. Realizing he overthought the situation, Conan solves the trick. Banno Teigo becomes angry and tries to escape. Wakasa sensei protects the detective boys by pretending to trip and knocking him out.
