Hashizume Akira and Kagazume Hiroshi are Nichiuri Sports Reporters who share similar names, appearances, and lifestyles, yet they despise one another. Upon leaving the scene, Hashizume intentionally takes the wrong turn, a detail noticed by both Conan and Kagazume. Kagazume is subsequently found dead, and Hashizume appears to be the culprit. However, Conan suspects inconsistencies in the case. He tranquilizes Kogoro to solve the mystery independently, revealing the truth behind the apparent murder.
