Secretary Ogu Masaya discovers the strangled body of fortune teller Baba Sadako at a mansion and reports the crime to the police. He claims Mori Kogoro invited the victim the previous day, but Kogoro denies this upon arrival. Conan discovers a computer file listing three individuals who hated Sadako, yet evidence regarding the time of death and document timestamps proves they are framed. Realizing the true culprit remains among these three suspects, Conan tranquilizes Kogoro to solve the case and identify the murderer.
