Conan and the Detective Boys visit a park for bird watching to enhance their reasoning skills by observing people across a river. He spots Detective Takagi in disguise conducting surveillance related to a kidnapping case involving cash handovers. Conan attempts to cross the river but is delayed, so he continues watching from afar. A criminal appears to complete the transaction and is secured, but Conan is discovered. It turns out the incident is not a kidnapping but a special scam victimizing the individual. The Detective Boys then begin observing the person who appears to be the criminal.
