Ep. 8: Rudeus rejects Philip's succession proposal while Eris waits in his room.

Two years later, Rudeus celebrates his birthday with Eris and her family, feeling disappointed that his own relatives cannot attend due to rising monster activity. He receives a high-quality magic staff, and Philip proposes that Rudeus marry Eris and become his successor, but Rudeus declines. That night, Eris visits his room, leading to an attempted intimacy that she rejects; Rudeus apologizes for his mistake, and she forgives him. Days later, a massive mana cloud appears in the sky. The legendary hero Perugius Dola sends his aide Arumanfi to investigate. Suspecting Rudeus, who is training with Eris and Ghislaine, is responsible, Arumanfi attacks him. Ghislaine defends Rudeus, and a burst of light confirms his innocence.
