Shy Yuki Nagato spends her time at North High School's Literature Club with her best friend Ryoko Asakura and Kyon, whom she likes. With Christmas approaching, Nagato resolves to host a celebration in the clubroom to honor the members and sustain the group. During turkey shopping for the event, the trio encounters Mikuru Asahina and Tsuruya. Tsuruya initiates a contest involving her own turkey, which ultimately becomes a competition between Ryoko and Tsuruya. After Asakura secures permission to use the clubroom, Nagato remembers a past instance where Kyon assisted her in obtaining a library card.
