Nagato and Kyon assist Haruhi Suzumiya, who claims she spent the previous night trying to capture Santa and dreams of meeting aliens, time travelers, and espers. At the start of the New Year, Haruhi arrives at the Literature Club with her classmate Itsuki Koizumi. They decide to become members of the club, which transforms the previously quiet group into a more lively environment through their presence and actions.
