During the Christmas celebration, Nagato remembers how the Literature Club nearly closed due to low membership earlier in the year. She met a strange girl from Kouyouen Academy who encouraged her to write an alien message to Santa. Inspired by this encounter, Nagato successfully convinced Ryoko and Kyon to join the club. Back at the party, Nagato attempts to confess her feelings to Kyon but is interrupted before she can speak. The following day, Nagato and Kyon are shocked when the mysterious girl from the playground suddenly appears before them. This flashback explains the origins of the club's survival and the strange events that occurred during the holiday season.
