Summer break begins as the Literature Club, accompanied by Kyon's younger sister, travels to Tsuruya's beach house. The following day, the group heads into the mountains to hunt for insects. Afterward, they participate in a test of courage. Instead of encountering the ghosts typically expected during such an activity, the pairs discover a group of beautiful fireflies. This unexpected natural spectacle replaces the anticipated supernatural frights, providing a unique and memorable experience for the club members during their outdoor excursion.
