After their exams, Nagato Yuki requests that Kyon and Ryoko accompany her to a used book fair. During the return journey, Ryoko helps Yuki recognize her romantic feelings for Kyon, intensifying her anxiety regarding her impending disappearance. Believing that her next sleep will be final, Yuki spends the day with Ryoko while concealing her fate. That night, Yuki confesses her love to Kyon via telephone. She falls asleep before Kyon can arrive to meet her. Upon his arrival, the original Yuki awakens in her place, marking the conclusion of the event.
