Ep. 1: Sea and Land Students Clash as Manaka Faces Curse and Rescue

Former Nami Junior High students Hikari Sakishima, Chisaki Hiradaira, Kaname Isaki, and Manaka Mukaido transfer to Mihama Junior High School. Tensions rise between land and sea descendants of the Ofunehiki sacrifice, with Hikari’s hostility toward Manaka escalating early on. After visiting Uroko-sama, Manaka is cursed with a fish growing from her knee following an assault. Embarrassed by classmates’ questions and a bodily function mishap, she flees into the forest. Dehydrated and losing her ena, she collapses until Tsumugu Kihara rescues her. He finds her condition beautiful, but Hikari later misunderstands their interaction and attacks him. Manaka intervenes, prompting Hikari to drag her into the sea out of jealousy.
