Manaka tries to curse herself again after her fish leaves to please Tsumugu, prompting Hikari to lash out at school. The group, including Tsumugu, Manaka, Hikari, Chisaki, and Kaname, volunteers for the Ofunehiki offering, discussing Shioshishio and Tsumugu. Before departing, they observe Akari kissing a man at the pier, leading them to reflect on sea-land relations. The following day, Chisaki finds Tsumugu creating a watering hole but dislikes his kindness. At Uroko's, Manaka begs for another curse just as village elders arrive to drag Akari away due to her involvement with a surface dweller. Hikari and Manaka watch helplessly as Tomori takes Akari to Uroko, highlighting the tension between their worlds.
