Six-year-old Nanaka lacks direction for the performance until receiving a letter from her seventeen-year-old self, who finalized the cast by assigning Kazamatsuri the role of Domiko. Although Kazamatsuri accepts, he contracts a cold on the event day, forcing Nanaka to take the part. She experiences stage fright and trips during the performance but recovers by improvising after receiving encouragement from her older self. The play ultimately succeeds. Following the event, Nanaka’s doctor diagnoses her with multiple personality syndrome but suggests that her distinct personalities may eventually merge in the near future.
