Kabuto blocks the Uchiha brothers' visual genjutsu with his hood and releases multiple snakes. The brothers use their Susano'os to capture the serpents. Kabuto claims they underestimate him and reveals he has augmented himself with DNA from Taka members: Suigetsu's flesh-liquid transformations, Karin's accelerated healing, and Jugo's nature energy utilization. He explains Jugo's lineage and how Orochimaru's study of Jugo's DNA led to the Ryuuchi Cave and the White Snake Sage. Although Orochimaru could not use Sage Jutsu due to host intolerance, Kabuto semi-mastered it. He unveils Sage Mode, aiming to transcend his master like a snake becoming a dragon. Kabuto overwhelms the brothers until Itachi counters. Itachi asks Sasuke if he remembers their wild boar hunting mission plan. Using Sasuke's aid, Itachi cuts off one of Kabuto's horns. Meanwhile, the Kage battle Madara's twenty five wood clones, which conjure their own Susano'os, putting the Kage at a disadvantage.
