Kakashi and Yamato observe the initial steps, after which Naruto outlines the final training phase. Konohamaru struggles to create Shadow Clones and challenges Naruto to a race in mastering their respective new techniques. Naruto successfully integrates wind chakra into his Rasengan, while Konohamaru grieves for Asuma. Eventually, Konohamaru learns the Shadow Clone jutsu and the Rasengan from Naruto. Later, as Naruto departs the village, Konohamaru utilizes these skills to attack Pain. Naruto subsequently thanks Konohamaru for storing his belongings in the evacuation shelter.
