Guy attacks Madara using the Evening Elephant, but the Inner Eight Gates Formation causes him pain. He repeats the move in the sky, prompting Minato to give Lee a kunai. Madara blocks with a Truth-Seeking Ball, but Lee throws the kunai for Minato to deflect with the Flying Rajin Jutsu. Gaara positions Kakashi to use Kamui, creating an opening for Guy to strike Madara through his shield. Madara survives, comparing the fight to his battle with Hashirama. Meanwhile, Naruto meets Hagoromo Ootsutsuki, the Sage of Six Paths, who explains the reincarnation cycle of Indra and Ashura. Hagoromo notes Naruto's lack of ability compared to his elder brother and reveals that Naruto is the reincarnation of Ashura.
