After Team Kakashi assists Team Kurenai in rescuing Hinata, the Leaf ninja retreat while Guren allows them to leave. Hinata survives crystalization through chakra coating but remains weak, staying with Sakura and Sai. Kabuto arrives and guides Guren, Gozu, and an agonized Yukimaru to a lake. There, Kabuto orders Guren to construct five Crystal Pillars to harness Yukimaru's chakra. This ritual successfully summons the mysterious creature residing beneath the water, identified as the tailed beast known as the Three-Tails. The group completes the summoning process, securing the powerful entity for their purposes while leaving the other ninja behind.
