Guren reunites with her group to pursue leaf ninja following Yukimaru's gift of his mother's memento. Kakashi, Hinata, and Kiba depart for the mission, leaving Shino behind to locate insects immune to crystallization for breeding. Kakashi and Team Kurenai members are soon attacked by Guren's forces. Meanwhile, after Gamatatsu learns Water Style, Naruto discovers the mission details and persuades Tsunade to allow his participation. Tsunade consents, giving Naruto time to perfect a collaboration jutsu with Gamatatsu. This segment is part of the Three-Tails' Appearance arc, specifically episode 7 of 24.
