In the forest, Team Kurenai engages Guren's men. Hinata and Kiba become trapped in a smoke screen set by Kigiri, resulting in Hinata being seriously injured by Nurari. Kakashi fights Gozu but cannot defeat him due to the opponent's superior speed and strength. Just as Rinji and his team prepare to kill Hinata, Kiba and Akamaru return to rescue her. They are subsequently forced to retreat when Shino arrives with his insects. Meanwhile, Yuukimaru recalls memories of his mother. This segment is part of the Three-Tails' Appearance arc, specifically episode 8 of 24.
