Ep. 2: Natsume investigates a miasma-spreading youkai linked to a trapped village resident

Tanuma’s father departs, allowing a malevolent youkai to invade the home and emit a harmful miasma that causes distress to surrounding spirits. Natsume pursues the creature and learns it originated from an all-youkai settlement. During a human ritual attended with his sister, a temporary portal opened, trapping them in the human world. His sister subsequently passed away while stranded. Natsume guides the youkai back to the temple where the ceremony occurred, enabling the portal to reopen. This allows the youkai to finally return to his former village, resolving the disturbance and concluding his long separation from home.
