Following school exams, Natsume, Sasada, Nishimura, and Kitamoto visit an art museum. Touko’s reflection on a past wrong prompts Natsume to recall his difficult childhood. A youkai residing in tree branches remembers Natsume, noting she previously frightened him to gain visibility since humans could not see her. They separated under poor circumstances. Natsume later visits this youkai in his old neighborhood. She had isolated herself from people but feels relief seeing Natsume is well and has found joy. The narrative concludes with Natsume’s reflection that having someone you wish to meet means you are no longer alone.
