Ep. 2: Ryutaro Mine seeks Nodame as accompanist after Chiaki quits, leading to rigorous practice and a classical music commitment.

Ryutaro Mine considers leaving classical music for rock after Chiaki resigns as his piano accompanist for a juried exam. He randomly encounters Nodame and asks her to accompany him. Although their musical synergy is exciting, Nodame senses a disconnect and consults Chiaki, who notes that Mine focuses solely on his solo performance. Nodame then demands more rigorous practice sessions. Meanwhile, she attempts to gain Chiaki’s attention by dressing seductively, but he is repulsed by her heavy makeup, and she subsequently catches a cold from wearing revealing clothing in winter. Chiaki eventually steps in to accompany Mine, adapting his playing to suit Mine’s style. Mine successfully passes his exam, disbands his rock group, and reaffirms his dedication to classical music.
