As the second semester ends and Christmas nears, Kanako finds Junpei working a part-time job as a postman and invites him to the movies. They first spend quality time together at a mall, where Kanako reflects on their past friendship. The following day, Kanako, who works part-time at a concession stand, gives Kaede a present. Later, when she visits the park, she overhears Junpei talking about a curse while he rescues a kitten from a tree to bring it down for a cat.
