The Earth Team reaches Alwas for the preliminary races and finds that Eva, using the alias Molly, has joined them. They immediately begin their first race without time for discussion. However, disaster occurs when their star-racer explodes at the finish line. With their pilot Rick incapacitated and no available replacements, the team faces the possibility of elimination from the Great Race.
