106
Head chef Yoshio Terasugi prepares a dinner for Touzai News staff on a German luxury cruise. He recounts his past training under Ernest Muhler in Yokohama, his engagement to Muhler’s daughter Sabine, and a fatal fight with a blackmailer that resulted in a 10-year prison sentence. Upon release, Terasugi studied cooking in Germany. Yamaoka and Kurita confirm that Hansa still operates with Sabine as owner, though the menu lacks mushroom soup and potato pancakes. Yamaoka arranges a meeting, revealing Sabine removed these dishes because they reminded her of Terasugi. She awaits his return to cook them again. Through Yamaoka’s intervention, the former lovers are happily reunited after their long separation.
