Mie Katsuta invites her college friend Kurita to dinner with her fiancé, Yasuo Kirita. Feeling uncomfortable attending alone, Kurita brings Yamaoka along. The couple displays excessive affection, irritating the pair until Mie declares they will eat natto for breakfast daily. This causes a shouting match, leading them to leave the restaurant. Later, Yasuo visits the Touzai offices and asks Yamaoka for assistance in learning to like natto. Yamaoka takes him to a restaurant where they prepare the dish in various ways. Yasuo eventually becomes a fan of the food, which helps preserve his relationship with Mie.
