Takeo agrees to join the judo club for a month to assist in a match against a rival school, even though this reduces his time with Rinko. His schedule tightens further when he asks Rinko to avoid meeting him at night to ensure her safety. Consequently, Rinko refrains from seeing Takeo to avoid interfering with his training and shares the reasons she fell in love with him with Makoto. During the match, opponent Tsuyoshi Iwayama assumes Takeo has grown soft due to his relationship.
