Rumors about Takeo and Rinko’s relationship circulate in their class. Takeo rescues a drowning child before his next date. During a night walk, he fails to notice Rinko’s subtle hints. Makoto’s sister Ai arrives, surprised to learn he has a girlfriend because she once liked him. The following day, Ai joins Takeo’s date to meet Rinko. Rinko is shocked to discover she ruined the cookies she baked. She feels relieved that Takeo still likes them, but becomes upset when he calls her pure, a detail Ai notices. Seeing Takeo realize his own lack of awareness and attempt to understand Rinko better, Ai decides to talk to Rinko about her concerns.
