EP 25Mio learns the truth about her father and alerts Reiji to the meeting location.
Sep 17, 2009Mio awakens and speaks with her mother, who reveals that her father is alive and that Mio shares a similar situation with Reiji. Realizing she does not fit into Reiji's world, Mio contacts him to disclose the meeting plans of Cal and Eren. Meanwhile, Drei struggles with doubts regarding her transformation into a killer. Reiji visits the church to meet Eren, concluding that killing Cal is the best option for her. Drei arrives at the church to duel Reiji. As she is defeated, Cal’s voice is heard wishing for their salvation and a world where they can be together. While dying in Reiji’s arms, Cal dreams of an alternate reality where he did not abandon her. Reiji comforts her as she passes away. The Scythe Master then appears with new assassins, ready for a final confrontation with Ein and Zwei.

Sep 25, 2009Eren and Reiji confront assassins sent by the Scythe Master, utilizing techniques from Eren’s initial training of Reiji to defeat phantoms. With assistance from Cal’s pocket watch, Reiji overcomes his foes, allowing Eren to finally kill the Scythe Master. The pair escapes Japan, prompting McGwire to realize Inferno’s defeat while assigning a final task to kill Reiji. Seeking answers about Reiji’s past, they travel to Mongolia, arriving at a field of Oxytropis flowers. There, an unidentified assassin silently shoots Reiji, who accepts his fate as his mission concludes. Immediately after, Ein consumes a poisonous leaf from the flowers to commit suicide, fulfilling the tragic end hinted at throughout their journey.
