Professor Cerise dispatches Ash and Goh to Vermilion City after a group of Ivysaur causes widespread disruption. During their investigation, the pair gain deeper insights into one another while encountering Team Rocket. The villains utilize special Pokéballs provided by Giovanni, which are delivered by a Pelipper summoned on demand. With assistance from the local Ivysaur, Pikachu manages to defeat the antagonists. Following the confrontation, the Ivysaur undergo evolution, transforming into Venusaur. This mission highlights the growing bond between the trainers and the escalating tactics employed by the criminal organization.
