Ash arrives at the Indigo Plateau, the venue for the Pokémon League conference. Prior to the start of the tournament, the group intends to ignite a ceremonial cauldron using the flame of the legendary Pokémon Moltres. As a participant, Ash is permitted to transport the flame. However, Team Rocket steals the fire, which threatens to cause the cancellation of the entire tournament.
