Ash, his friends, and Delia travel to Hollywood for the premiere of a film starring their Pokémon. Team Rocket accompanies them and discovers that Meowth has a past in this town. He previously belonged to a gang of street Meowths led by Persian. Meowth learned to speak and walk upright to win the affection of a female Meowth abandoned by her owner. Upon returning, he challenges Persian, his former mentor, for the female Meowth he believed he lost years ago.
