In the second round, Ash competes in the rock arena. His final Pokémon, Squirtle, defeats the opponent's last Pokémon, Nidorino, securing Ash's victory and advancement to Round 3. During the third round, Ash faces trainer Pete Pebbleman in the ice arena. Both trainers retain two Pokémon each at the conclusion of their battles. Pete utilizes Cloyster and Arcanine against Ash's team. Ultimately, Ash emerges victorious in this match, allowing him to proceed to Round 4 of the tournament.
