Ep. 1: Ash Arrives in Unova With Pikachu While Team Rocket Receives a New Mission

Ash, Pikachu, his mother, and Professor Oak arrive in the Unova region, where Giovanni assigns Team Rocket a new task. Professor Oak introduces Ash to researcher Professor Juniper, who examines Pikachu after a dark storm cloud strikes the group with electricity. Although Juniper finds no immediate issues, Pikachu cannot use Electric-type moves during a battle against Trainer Trip and his Snivy. Back at the lab, Juniper confirms Pikachu is still affected by the lightning. The same dark cloud reappears, prompting Juniper to recount the legend of the Legendary Pokemon Zekrom, leading everyone to suspect it caused the loss of Pikachu's powers.
