Having finished traveling with Satoshi and Takeshi, Hikari returns to her residence to select which Pokémon will accompany her on the path to becoming a Top Coordinator. The following morning, Ayako attempts to rouse Hikari from bed but discovers she has already risen. Upon checking outside, Ayako observes Hikari practicing with Hinoarashi. The Pokémon executes a Swift and Flame Wheel combination, a display that deeply impresses Ayako. This sequence marks the beginning of Hikari's independent preparation for her future career in the Pokémon Coordinator circuit, following her departure from her previous travel companions.
