He discovers that the position is currently vacant, leaving him uncertain about his next steps. Shortly after, a trainer named Hapu confronts and attacks Ash. She believes he stole vegetables from her field, although the theft was actually committed by Team Skull. This misunderstanding complicates Ash's plans on the island as he navigates the situation without the guidance of a Kahuna.
