Following reports of an old man at the Ruins of Hope, Hapu explains that Poni Island’s guardian enables visions of deceased loved ones, causing Mallow distress. The group visits Hapu, where a mysterious mist emerges from the ruins. Ash, Mallow, Lillie, Gladion, and their Pokémon attempt to navigate the fog. While Ash and Mallow meet significant figures from their past, Lillie and Gladion find nothing. Hapu travels to the ruins to summon Tapu Fini to halt the phenomenon but experiences a personal encounter instead.
