Ash and his classmates embark on a camping trip in the forest, but the outing begins poorly when Lana frightens the group with a ghost story about a traveler whose energy was drained while asleep. Unbeknownst to them, a mysterious Pokémon is watching their every move. One by one, the group members, excluding Lillie, are attacked and knocked out as their energy is siphoned away. The culprit is revealed to be a hungry Morelull. Ash eventually discovers a method to provide the Morelull with all the energy it requires, leading the group to understand the reason behind the Pokémon's intense need for sustenance.
