After witnessing Ash and Kiawe perform Z-moves, Team Rocket seeks Z-crystals and encounters Team Skull. Both groups discover a Darkinium Z-crystal lodged in a large rock that serves as the lair for a Raticate and Rattata infestation. The two gangs engage in a competition to claim the crystal. Team Rocket wins the contest but realizes that possessing the Z-crystal is distinct from understanding how to utilize its power effectively.
