At the Wela Volcano Festival, an Alolan Marowak steals the Wela Crown, believed to boost Pokémon strength. Ash and Kiawe pursue it, leading to a fierce battle where Kiawe’s Turtonator loses to Marowak despite using a Z-move. Devastated by the defeat, Kiawe is encouraged by Ash and Turtonator. The following day, they face Marowak in a rematch, with Turtonator emerging victorious. Marowak returns the crown and chooses to join Kiawe as a Pokémon, establishing a rivalry with Turtonator.
